Mikael Axelsson has studied design in Stockholm, Barcelona and Wellington and is also a trained mechanical engineer. The last two educations where conducted at reputed Massey University College of Creative Arts and Beckmans College of Design. Directly after graduating from Beckmans he was awarded the Ann Walls scholarship from Svenskt Tenn, Ikea scholarship and was part of the Ung Svensk Form exhibition. His work has been exhibited in London (Designersblock), New York (Mercer Street 17), Stockholm (So Stockholm Gallery), Malmö (Form/Design Center), Hamburg (Völkerkundemuseum) Moscow, Berlin amongst other.
